As Managing Director of the German Research Center for Science & Innovation Communication (innocomm), the information scientist Alexander Gerber has been coordinating research and development, consulting and training, auditing and certifications since 2010. Before, he was head of Marketing & Communications at Fraunhofer ICT Group for 7 years and editor-in-chief of InnoVisions Magazine from 2006 to 2010.

Mr. Gerber is scientific advisor to the Association of Specialised Journalists (DFJV) and to the German Hightech Press Club (HPC); Chairman of the German Association for Technical/Scientific Publishing (TELI) in Berlin; member of the German Science Writers Guild (WPK) and of the Working Group on Science Communication of the grassroots organisation Euroscience.

He is moderator of the largest German Forum on idea and innovation management and official assessor for the accreditation of new university programs of study in the areas of innovation and communication.

Mr. Gerber initiated and coordinated the series of German trend studies on science communication in 2009.

Conference Moderator

BBC journalist Quentin Cooper will act as moderator for the conference. Quentin Cooper is known for presenting 'The Material World', the UK's most popular science programme. He is an experienced and enthusiastic conference host and has run several workshops on science communication.

Main Rapporteur

Jack Stilgoe will act as the main rapporteur for the conference. He is Senior Research Fellow at Exeter Business School where he is working on a framework for responsible innovation.
